2 cups Unseeded dates (chopped )
2 tsp garlic paste
2 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tbslp red chilli powder
1 1/2 tblsp coconut oil
1/2 cup vinegar
salt to taste
1 or 2 sprigs of curry leaves
1 or 2 green chillies chopped (optional)
few garlic cloves(optional)
1.Heat a pan and pour oil.Splutter mustard seeds as well as fenugreek seeds in the heated oil.
2.Saute ginger + garlic paste,chopped green chillies and curry leaves for a few seconds.
3.Add red chilli powder,salt and vinegar. Allow to boil.
4.Add chopped dates and stir well.
P.S.: For a looser texture,you could add a bit of boiling water. To increase sourness, the amount of vinegar could be increased.
